Terms of service

Last Updated: April 30, 2026

Welcome to flareevents.com. This website and the services described below are operated by Flare Events Inc. (“Flare,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to flareevents.com and to any other websites, domains, subdomains, pages, stores, platforms, applications, or channels operated by Flare where these Terms are posted, linked, or referenced.

By visiting our website, purchasing a service, registering for an event, joining our database, participating in matchmaking, booking dating coaching, accessing our resources, or otherwise using services, products, communications, tools, or resources provided by Flare, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, operations, or legal requirements. The date at the top of these Terms identifies the most recent revision. Your continued use of our services after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Flare’s dating events, matchmaking, dating coaching, membership, Daterbase, and related dating services are intended only for individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age.

By using our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that the information you provide to Flare is accurate, complete, current, and not misleading.

You are responsible for ensuring that you meet any additional eligibility requirements associated with a particular service or event, including advertised age ranges or permitted age leeway.

Flare may request reasonable age, identity, or eligibility verification where appropriate. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate access where we reasonably believe that a person is under 18, has provided false or misleading information, has misrepresented their identity or eligibility, or is otherwise ineligible to use a service.

These Terms apply to Flare services and offerings including:

  • dating and singles events;
  • matchmaking services;
  • dating coaching;
  • membership, Daterbase, and database-style access;
  • event registration and ticketing;
  • digital forms and intake processes;
  • customer and client communications;
  • websites and digital resources; and
  • related products and services offered through Flare-operated channels.

References to “services” in these Terms include these offerings unless the context requires otherwise.

Certain services, particularly matchmaking and dating coaching, may require you to review and accept a separate service agreement.

A service-specific agreement may contain additional terms concerning the purchased package, deliverables, duration, client responsibilities, communication expectations, payment, cancellation, pauses, expiry, and refunds.

These Terms continue to apply generally to your relationship with Flare, including website use, safety requirements, prohibited conduct, privacy, payments, intellectual property, limitations of liability, and termination rights.

If these Terms conflict with a service-specific agreement concerning the particular service covered by that agreement, the service-specific agreement will govern that particular service unless otherwise stated.

Flare may reasonably update or change the tools, technology, staffing, processes, communication methods, administrative workflows, or service-delivery methods used to provide a service, provided that any material commitments expressly contained in an applicable service-specific agreement remain subject to that agreement and applicable law.

Any timelines communicated in connection with matchmaking, dating coaching, or other personalized services may depend on client responsiveness, participation, availability, scheduling, completion of requested information or materials, and other circumstances relevant to the service. Unless expressly stated otherwise in an applicable service-specific agreement, any estimated timeline is not a guarantee of completion by a particular date.

You agree to use Flare’s websites, services, communications, tools, and resources lawfully and responsibly.

You agree that:

  1. Information you provide to Flare will be accurate, complete, current, and not misleading.
  2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account or login credentials associated with a service you use and for activity that occurs through your account.
  3. You will not disrupt, interfere with, damage, tamper with, or attempt unauthorized access to our services, systems, websites, communications, servers, or networks.
  4. You will not copy, duplicate, reproduce, sell, trade, resell, exploit, or commercially use Flare’s services, resources, content, or access without authorization, except where permitted by law.
  5. You are responsible for consequences arising from unlawful, unauthorized, fraudulent, abusive, or prohibited activity conducted by you or through your account.

Where Flare provides interactive tools, reviews, forms, comments, messages, social-media features, or other communication channels, you are responsible for content you submit and must use those tools lawfully and respectfully.

You must not upload, publish, submit, communicate, or distribute content that:

  • is illegal, threatening, defamatory, abusive, harassing, degrading, intimidating, fraudulent, deceptive, discriminatory, exploitative, coercive, unsafe, or unlawfully invasive;
  • infringes another person’s intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other legal rights;
  • contains unauthorized advertising, spam, solicitation, or promotional materials; or
  • impersonates another person or entity, including a Flare employee, contractor, host, coach, matchmaker, client, member, participant, dater, or representative.

Flare may remove content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, applicable law, safety requirements, or third-party rights.

Where you intentionally submit content for public display through a Flare-operated feature, you grant Flare a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, display, adapt, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate or promote that public feature.

This licence does not apply to private registration, intake, matchmaking, coaching, membership, payment, or account information, which is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Flare is committed to maintaining safe, respectful, lawful, voluntary, and consent-based services.

This section applies to users, customers, daters, clients, members, event attendees, contractors, hosts, and other individuals interacting with Flare or our services.

Flare may refuse service, remove a person from an event, suspend or terminate access, cancel participation, restrict future participation, cancel active tickets or services, or take other reasonable action where we reasonably believe that a person has violated these Terms, applicable law, our safety standards, or the rights or safety of others.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  1. abusive, threatening, harassing, degrading, discriminatory, intimidating, exploitative, coercive, fraudulent, deceptive, unsafe, or unlawful behaviour;
  2. conduct involving or reasonably suggesting human trafficking, sex trafficking, exploitation, coercion, intimidation, abuse, forced participation, or unlawful commercial sexual activity;
  3. using Flare, our services, events, platforms, or communications to recruit, pressure, control, exploit, monitor, threaten, or harm another person;
  4. registering, purchasing, communicating, or participating on behalf of another adult without that person’s knowledge, consent, and voluntary participation;
  5. providing false, misleading, materially incomplete, or inconsistent information relating to identity, age, registration, intake, onboarding, payment, participation, preferences, availability, or eligibility;
  6. attempting to bypass age restrictions, eligibility rules, safety procedures, payment requirements, service restrictions, or these Terms;
  7. impersonating another person or entity;
  8. violating another person’s privacy, consent, boundaries, safety, or confidentiality;
  9. behaviour that creates a material safety concern for Flare, our staff, contractors, hosts, coaches, matchmakers, clients, members, daters, participants, venues, or the public; or
  10. illegal, fraudulent, abusive, exploitative, trafficking-related, or otherwise suspicious activity connected with Flare or our services.

All participation in Flare services must be voluntary.

Where Flare identifies suspected unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, exploitative, coercive, trafficking-related, threatening, or unsafe activity, we may take measures including:

  • suspending or terminating services;
  • refusing entry to or removing a person from an event;
  • cancelling tickets, orders, services, memberships, or participation;
  • restricting future access;
  • preserving relevant records where appropriate and lawful;
  • escalating the matter internally; and
  • reporting credible safety, trafficking, exploitation, fraud, abuse, imminent-harm, or other unlawful concerns to law enforcement, emergency services, payment providers, platforms, or other appropriate authorities where permitted or required by law.

Where a customer is removed, suspended, terminated, barred, or refused service because of a violation of these Terms, safety requirements, or applicable law, related purchases may be treated as redeemed and non-refundable to the extent permitted by law and in accordance with our Refund Policy.

Flare facilitates opportunities for adults to meet, communicate, attend events, receive introductions, and participate in dating-related services. Flare does not control the actions, intentions, representations, or conduct of other participants outside the aspects of a service that we directly administer.

Unless expressly stated for a particular service, Flare does not represent or guarantee that every customer, participant, dater, member, or prospective match has undergone a criminal-record check, background check, identity verification, or other screening process.

Any verification or screening Flare may choose to conduct does not guarantee a person’s identity, intentions, conduct, compatibility, safety, or suitability.

You should exercise reasonable judgment and appropriate personal-safety precautions when communicating with, meeting, or interacting with another person through or following a Flare service.

If you become aware of conduct that may violate these Terms or create a safety concern, you may report it to Flare. Where there is an immediate danger or emergency, contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

Flare may establish reasonable eligibility, attendance, timing, conduct, and participation requirements for dating events.

Customers are responsible for purchasing tickets for events for which they are eligible, including any advertised age range or permitted age leeway.

Tickets may not be resold or transferred to another person without Flare’s approval.

A participant who arrives sufficiently late may be refused entry where admitting them would materially disrupt the format or operation of the event.

A participant arriving twenty (20) minutes or more after the listed start time without adequate notice may be refused entry and their ticket may be considered redeemed.

A participant who fails to attend without reasonable advance notice may receive a strike or other attendance notation on their profile. Repeated no-shows or attendance issues may result in restrictions on future event participation.

A participant who voluntarily leaves an event prematurely or engages in abusive, unsafe, inappropriate, or prohibited behaviour may also be restricted from future events or other Flare services.

Flare does not guarantee a particular number of attendees, an exact participant ratio, a specific number of dates or conversations, the attendance of any particular person, or any match or connection outcome.

Attendance can change because of cancellations, no-shows, late arrivals, illness, emergencies, and other circumstances outside Flare’s control. Flare may make reasonable adjustments to event timing, rotations, format, participant flow, hosts, or other operational details in order to operate an event effectively.

Where Flare provides post-event matching results, we generally aim to provide those results within forty-eight (48) hours following the event.

Flare may occasionally need to change an event’s date, start time, venue, host, format, or other reasonable operational details.

An event is not considered cancelled merely because it is postponed, rescheduled, relocated to another reasonable venue within the same city or local service area, or otherwise reasonably modified.

A postponed event is an event that has been delayed and will be rescheduled, even where a replacement date has not yet been announced.

A rescheduled event is an event that has been moved to a different date or time.

An event is considered cancelled only where Flare determines that it will not proceed and will not be rescheduled or replaced within a reasonable period.

Ticket exchanges, credits, refunds, and other remedies relating to event changes are governed by our Refund Policy.

Membership, Daterbase, database-style access, and similar access-based services do not have a fixed expiry date unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.

Continued access remains subject to these Terms and to Flare continuing to offer the applicable service.

Daterbase and database-style access are passive services. They may allow Flare to create, maintain, review, or consider your profile and contact you where appropriate.

They are not active matchmaking packages and do not guarantee:

  • introductions;
  • matches;
  • a relationship;
  • a particular timeline;
  • dedicated matchmaker services;
  • ongoing dating coaching;
  • regular check-ins; or
  • continuing profile revisions.

Flare may modify, suspend, or discontinue access where reasonably necessary for legal, safety, technical, operational, payment, or policy reasons.

Unless expressly disclosed and agreed to at the time of purchase, Flare does not automatically renew membership, database access, dating coaching, matchmaking, or other services.

If recurring billing, subscriptions, or automatic renewals are offered in the future, applicable pricing, billing frequency, renewal terms, cancellation procedures, and charges will be disclosed before you agree to the arrangement.

Prices, applicable taxes, processing charges, and other fees will be disclosed at or before purchase where required.

By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided and authorize the applicable charge.

Where a service is purchased using a payment plan, scheduled payments remain due in accordance with the agreed payment schedule unless otherwise stated in an applicable service agreement or required by law.

Choosing not to continue using a purchased service does not automatically cancel remaining payment obligations.

A service pause does not automatically pause or cancel scheduled payments.

Failed, reversed, disputed, or overdue payments may result in suspension or delay of services while the payment issue is resolved, subject to applicable law.

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute does not by itself cancel a purchase, terminate an agreement, or create a right to a refund. Flare may provide relevant transaction, registration, attendance, service, communication, and policy records to the applicable payment processor, bank, card network, or financial institution when responding to a dispute, subject to applicable law and cardholder rights.

Dating, matchmaking, coaching, events, membership, introductions, and relationships depend on numerous personal circumstances and factors outside Flare’s control.

Flare does not guarantee any particular:

  • match;
  • introduction;
  • relationship;
  • compatibility;
  • response;
  • attendance level;
  • timeline;
  • dating outcome; or
  • personal result.

Photographs, video, or audio may be captured at certain Flare events and may include your likeness, voice, or participation.

These materials may be used for promotional, marketing, social-media, website, internal, or other legitimate business purposes where permitted by law.

If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, you should notify Flare or event staff before or upon arrival. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests but cannot guarantee exclusion from every background, crowd, incidental, or previously captured image or recording.

Additional information concerning photographs, recordings, personal information, and withdrawal of consent is contained in our Privacy Policy.

Our Refund Policy forms part of these Terms and contains the complete rules applicable to refunds, event-ticket exchanges, event postponements and rescheduling, service holds, third-party purchases, and cancellations.

Dating event tickets are non-refundable. Where Flare permits an event-ticket exchange, the request must be received at least forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled event, except where Flare chooses to make an exception or where required by law.

A postponement, rescheduling, reasonable venue change, or other reasonable operational modification does not by itself constitute cancellation or automatically create a right to a cash refund.

Matchmaking, dating coaching, membership, and database-access purchases may be subject to additional refund, payment, pause, and cancellation provisions in an applicable service-specific agreement.

Where a service-specific agreement applies, that agreement will govern the particular service to the extent of any conflict.

Nothing in these Terms or our Refund Policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection legislation.

Flare may use or link to third-party websites, venues, ticketing platforms, payment processors, scheduling services, communications providers, technology platforms, and other service providers.

Those third parties may have their own terms, privacy practices, refund policies, fees, availability, and service requirements.

Flare is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, availability, content, or practices of third parties except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Purchases processed through a third party may also be subject to that provider’s applicable terms and policies.

Our Privacy Policy explains how Flare collects, uses, discloses, protects, and retains personal information and forms part of these Terms.

Content and materials made available through flareevents.com and other Flare-operated channels (including text, graphics, trademarks, trade names, logos, designs, documents, forms, software, images, code, resources, and other materials) are owned by Flare Events Inc., its licensors, or other applicable rights holders.

Unauthorized copying, reproduction, distribution, display, modification, transmission, or exploitation is prohibited except where permitted by law or with prior authorization.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Flare’s websites, services, resources, tools, communications, and materials are provided “as is” and “as available” unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

We do not warrant that:

  • services will satisfy every personal preference or expectation;
  • access will always be uninterrupted, timely, error-free, or free from technical problems;
  • every piece of information will always be complete, current, or error-free; or
  • every defect, interruption, or technical issue will immediately be corrected.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty, condition, guarantee, consumer right, or other legal protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Flare’s aggregate liability arising from a particular purchased product or service will not exceed the amount paid to Flare for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.

To the extent permitted by law, Flare will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses or damages arising from circumstances including:

  • inability to access or use a service;
  • interruptions, delays, postponements, rescheduling, or technical problems;
  • data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access;
  • actions, omissions, communications, compatibility, availability, representations, or decisions of other participants, daters, members, customers, contractors, venues, or third parties; or
  • matches, introductions, relationships, responses, attendance, outcomes, or other personal experiences associated with dating services.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where doing so is prohibited by applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Flare Events Inc., its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses, including reasonable legal expenses, arising from your unlawful misuse of our services, material violation of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights, or unlawful conduct.

Flare will not be responsible for a delay, interruption, modification, postponement, rescheduling, or failure to perform an obligation where the delay or failure results from circumstances reasonably outside our control.

These circumstances may include severe weather, natural disasters, fires, floods, public-health emergencies, venue closures, transportation disruptions, power or utility failures, telecommunications or technology outages, labour disruptions, governmental action or restrictions, public-safety concerns, or other comparable events.

Where such circumstances affect a dating event, Flare may postpone, reschedule, relocate, or reasonably modify the event in accordance with our Refund Policy.

Nothing in this section limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Flare may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to some or all of our services where reasonably appropriate, including because of:

  • violation of these Terms;
  • violation of a service-specific agreement;
  • safety concerns;
  • fraud or suspected unlawful activity;
  • abuse, exploitation, harassment, coercion, or threatening behaviour;
  • non-payment;
  • material misrepresentation; or
  • other conduct that creates a material legal, operational, or safety risk.

Following termination, your right to use the applicable service may immediately cease.

Refund eligibility following suspension or termination will be determined in accordance with our Refund Policy, any applicable service-specific agreement, and applicable law.

Personal information following termination will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Flare may use the email address or other contact information you provide to send communications reasonably necessary to administer a purchase or service, including confirmations, event reminders, schedule or venue changes, matchmaking or coaching communications, safety notices, payment information, and other service-related notices.

You are responsible for ensuring that the contact information you provide is accurate and current and for reviewing service-related communications sent to that information.

Marketing communications are handled separately and may be unsubscribed from in accordance with applicable law.

Flare does not provide emergency, crisis-intervention, law-enforcement, medical, mental-health, or emergency-safety services.

If you are in immediate danger or require emergency assistance, contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any action or proceeding relating to these Terms, our website, or our services shall be brought in the courts located in Ontario, Canada, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Disputes shall be resolved in the English language. You agree to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive jurisdictional, venue, or inconvenient-forum objections to the extent such waiver is permitted by law.

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, where permitted, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

A failure or delay by Flare in exercising any right or enforcing any provision of these Terms does not waive that right or provision.

A waiver relating to one circumstance does not constitute a waiver relating to any other circumstance.
